NSMQ 2026 regional qualifiers rescheduled to July 25 –August 10

The organisers of the 2026 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) have announced new dates for the competition’s regional qualifiers following extensive consultations with key stakeholders.

In a statement, Primetime Limited said the qualifiers will now take place from July 25 to August 10, 2026, setting the stage for another exciting edition of Ghana’s premier senior high school quiz competition.

The organisers also released an updated regional schedule, outlining when each region will host its qualifying contests.

According to the revised timetable, the Ashanti Region will open the qualifiers from July 25 to 30, while the Central Region will compete from July 25 to 27.

The Western and Western North regions will hold their contests from July 28 to 29, followed by the Greater Accra Region from July 30 to August 1.

The Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions will compete between July 31 and August 3, while the Volta and Oti regions are scheduled for August 1 to 5.

Regional qualifiers for the Eastern Region will take place from August 3 to 6, with the Northern, North East and Savannah regions competing from August 6 to 7.

The Upper East Region qualifiers have been scheduled for August 7 to 8, while the Upper West Region will conclude the qualifying stage on August 10.

The National Science and Maths Quiz, organised annually by Primetime Limited in partnership with the Ghana Education Service (GES), remains one of the country’s most anticipated academic competitions, bringing together senior high schools from across Ghana to compete for national honours in science and mathematics.
