A fire outbreak at the girls’ dormitory of Mim Senior High School in the Ahafo Region has destroyed two rooms, with no casualties recorded.

The incident affected a section of the eight-room dormitory block.

Firefighters from the Goaso Municipal Fire Station responded to the emergency and managed to contain the blaze, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the dormitory.

While two rooms were completely affected, six others were salvaged as firefighters brought the situation under control.

Authorities have confirmed that all students are safe, with no injuries or loss of life recorded.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and remains under investigation.

The Ahafo Regional Fire Commander, ACFO II Samuel Ferdie Tetteh, later visited the school to assess the extent of the damage and monitor the situation.

The incident comes amid renewed concerns over fire safety in schools, particularly in boarding facilities, where authorities continue to encourage students and management to observe precautionary measures to prevent fire outbreaks.
