The Member of Parliament for the Ho Central Constituency, Edem Kofi Kpotosu, has joined personnel of the 66 Artillery Regiment of the Ghana Armed Forces in Ho to participate in the nationwide clean-up exercise aimed at promoting environmental sanitation and preventing flooding.
The exercise forms part of the government’s renewed campaign to improve sanitation across the country following the directive by President John Dramani Mahama for a two-day national clean-up initiative.

The MP worked alongside military personnel, residents, and other stakeholders to desilt drains, clear refuse dumps and clean public spaces within the Ho Municipality.
The exercise sought to reduce the risk of flooding, improve public health, and encourage residents to maintain clean surroundings.
Addressing participants, Mr. Kpotosu commended the 66 Artillery Regiment for demonstrating leadership and community service beyond their core security responsibilities.

He stressed that environmental cleanliness is a shared responsibility and urged residents to adopt proper waste disposal practices to sustain the gains made during the exercise.
He noted that maintaining a clean environment is essential for preventing the outbreak of diseases, protecting lives and property, and creating a healthier community for all.
Officers of the 66 Artillery Regiment also encouraged residents to embrace regular communal labour and support efforts aimed at improving sanitation in the municipality.

The nationwide clean-up exercise attracted the participation of security agencies, local authorities, traditional leaders, and community members, reaffirming the collective commitment to ensuring cleaner and healthier communities across Ghana.
