While some football fans across Africa have thrown their support behind England ahead of Ghana’s crucial World Cup encounter, Nigerian music superstar Davido has publicly backed the Black Stars.
Ahead of Ghana’s second Group L match against England, the award-winning artiste took to social media to express his support for the four-time African champions, joining a growing list of Nigerian celebrities rooting for Ghana’s success on the global stage.
Davido’s endorsement has generated excitement among Ghanaian fans, especially given the fierce football rivalry that has traditionally existed between Ghana and Nigeria.
He is not alone in his support. Nigerian singer Mr Eazi and media personality Calista Okonkwo have also publicly thrown their weight behind the Black Stars as they prepare for the highly anticipated showdown against England.
The wave of support comes as Ghana seeks to build on its opening victory over Panama and strengthen its chances of progressing from Group L at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
