Some aggrieved New Patriotic Party (NPP) branch executives in the Ayensuano Constituency of the Eastern Region are protesting their disqualification and the rejection of their nomination forms ahead of the party’s ongoing polling station elections.
The affected executives, estimated at about 180, allege that the process was deliberately skewed against them and politically motivated. They claim they are being unfairly blocked from participating and are calling on party leadership to intervene immediately.
According to them, the situation raises concerns about fairness and internal democracy within the party, warning that failure to address it could deepen divisions at the grassroots level.
The group is urging the national leadership of the NPP to step in and ensure a transparent and credible process across all polling stations.
The convener of the group, David Ofori Koranteng, has also appealed to the Eastern Regional executives, national leadership, and the Flagbearer-elect, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to intervene in the matter.
He alleged that their nomination forms were deliberately hidden during the filing process, which led to their exclusion from the album. According to him, some constituency executives orchestrated the move to favour preferred candidates.
