The High Court in Accra has granted bail to the former Chief Executive Officer of the National Food Buffer Stock Company Limited, Hanan Abdul-Wahab Aludiba, and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, in an ongoing criminal case involving alleged corruption and financial loss to the state linked to more than GH¢50 million in public funds.
The court admitted Mr. Abdul-Wahab to bail in the sum of GH¢60 million with two justified sureties, while his wife was granted bail in the sum of GH¢3.5 million, also with two justified sureties.
The ruling followed their plea of not guilty to a revised 20-count charge sheet filed by the Attorney-General’s Department.
As part of the bail conditions, the court ordered that both accused persons be placed on a stop list at all entry and exit points across the country to prevent international travel while the trial is ongoing.
The court also directed them to surrender their passports to the court registry.
In addition, the accused persons are required to report to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) every two weeks as part of measures to ensure their availability for trial.
The court further ruled that they would remain under their existing EOCO bail conditions until they fully satisfy the new bail terms imposed by the High Court.
They have been given until 21 May 2026 to comply fully with all bail requirements, including the provision of justified sureties and completion of all administrative procedures tied to their release.
On the prosecution side, the court ordered the State to file all outstanding witness statements and disclosures within seven days.
The accused persons have also been directed to file their list of witnesses for the defence, should they choose to call any during the trial.
The case has been adjourned to 28 May 2026 for a Case Management Conference.
