Ghana Premier League side Hearts of Oak have confirmed that their team bus was involved in a minor road accident while travelling for their Matchday 33 fixture against FC Samartex.
The Phobians were on their way to the Nsenkyire Sports Arena when the incident occurred near Samraboi after the team bus was reportedly struck by a tricycle while crossing the road.
In a statement, the club clarified that the situation was contained quickly and did not result in any serious injuries to players or officials.
“On our way to Samraboi to honour our Matchday 33 fixture against Samartex, our team bus was involved in a minor incident after being hit by a tricycle while crossing,” the statement read.
The club further noted that some roadside victims who were affected in the incident were taken to the hospital at Wassa Simpa, where they received treatment and were later discharged.
Hearts of Oak assured supporters that the playing body and technical team are all safe and in good condition, expressing appreciation for the concern shown by fans and the wider football community.
