The Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Emilia Arthur, has cautioned premix fuel and landing beach operators in Yeji against selling premix fuel above the approved price, warning that offenders will be arrested and prosecuted.
According to the Minister, any operator found selling Kuffour gallons of premix fuel for more than GH¢200 will face legal action.
She gave the warning during a courtesy call on fisherfolk and premix fuel operators in Yeji, where she explained the recent delay in the supply of premix fuel to the area.
The Minister noted that the government remains committed to ensuring the regular supply of premix fuel to support fishing activities and improve the livelihoods of fisherfolk.
She therefore urged operators to strictly adhere to the approved pricing structure to avoid exploiting fishermen and consumers.
Emilia Arthur stressed that the approved price for Kuffour gallons of premix fuel remains GH¢200 and charged operators to comply with the directive.

“We will not tolerate any form of profiteering or illegal price increases. Any operator who sells above the approved price will be arrested and prosecuted according to the laws of Ghana,” she warned.
The Member of Parliament for Pru East, Emmanuel Kwaku Boam, also reiterated the Minister’s warning, stressing that both tanker drivers discharging the fuel and operators at premix fuel stations who engage in unauthorised price increases would be sanctioned.
He called on fisherfolk and residents to report any operator or tanker driver who attempts to sell the product above the approved price.
The MP further assured the people that the government is working to address the challenges affecting the supply of premix fuel in the area to ensure smooth fishing operations.
