The Chief of Wassa Juabo in the Amenfi Central District of the Western Region has cut sod for the construction of police bungalows aimed at enhancing security and improving police welfare in the community.
Speaking during the sod-cutting ceremony, Nana Kwaku Tigyima II, stated that inadequate accommodation has been a major challenge affecting police deployment and operations in the community.
According to him, after consultations with the District Police Command, it became necessary to provide decent accommodation to attract more security personnel and enhance law enforcement, crime prevention, and rapid response within the area.
Also speaking at the event, the Queen Mother of Wassa Juabo, Nana Adwoa Biyaa II, appealed to residents to support the initiative through communal labour and other contributions to ensure the timely completion of the project for improved community safety and security.
On his part, ASP Kofi Attorm, the second in command of the Sefwi Bekwai District Police expressed profound appreciation to the traditional authorities and the people of Wassa Juabo for the intervention.
He assured the community that upon completion of the bungalow project, the Police Service would deploy additional personnel to strengthen patrols, maintain law and order, and improve public safety in the area.
