The Church of Pentecost, Sefwi Essam-Debiso Area, has renovated the Ghana National Fire Service station at Essam in the Bia West District of the Western North Region, in a move aimed at improving the welfare and working conditions of firefighters.

The project, spearheaded under the leadership of Apostle Frank Awuah Fordjour, forms part of the church’s broader commitment to supporting state institutions and contributing to community development within its operational areas.

The renovated facility, which serves officers of the Ghana National Fire Service stationed at Essam, had reportedly been in a deteriorated state for some time, affecting the comfort and accommodation of personnel.

Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, Apostle Frank Awuah Fordjour said the intervention reflects the Church’s recognition of the critical role firefighters play in safeguarding lives and property. He noted that providing a more decent and conducive environment for them was essential in supporting their operations.

He further explained that the initiative aligns with the Church’s mission of positively impacting society through practical social interventions and community support projects.

On behalf of the Fire Service, the Bia West Commander, DO3 McLord Eshun, expressed gratitude to the church, describing the renovation as timely and significant. He said the improved facility would go a long way to boost the morale and welfare of personnel stationed at the facility.

The renovated station is expected to enhance comfort and improve working conditions for firefighters as they continue to serve the Essam community and surrounding areas.
