President John Dramani Mahama has commended the Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and the Police Management Board (POMAB) for their sustained efforts in combating armed robbery and organised crime, as well as ongoing reforms within the Ghana Police Service.
The President made the remarks during the commissioning of the Odumase Krobo Laasi Divisional Police Headquarters, where he described the Police leadership as “quiet but very effective” in the fight against crime.

He praised the Service for intensifying operations against criminal networks and enhancing public safety across the country, noting that current reforms and operational strategies are contributing significantly to improved security outcomes nationwide.
President Mahama further highlighted the importance of continued investment in law enforcement, stressing that strengthening the Police Service remains key to maintaining peace and stability.

In response, the IGP expressed gratitude to the President for his support towards improving the country’s security framework.
He noted that government’s investment in retooling the Service, including the provision of armoured vehicles, has played a critical role in supporting operations and helping to foil several robbery incidents.
The IGP reaffirmed the commitment of the Police Administration to sustaining the gains made in crime fighting and ensuring the safety and security of all citizens.
