President John Dramani Mahama is in the Eastern Region ,Friday ,1st May 2026, and will continue his visit Saturday,2nd May 2026, as part of his nationwide “Resetting Ghana Tour,” according to official programme details.
The two-day engagement will feature development inspections, sod-cutting ceremonies, and citizen engagement activities across key areas in the region, including Koforidua, Somanya and Asesewa. A major highlight of the tour is the National May Day celebration at Jackson Park in Koforidua, where the President is expected to join organised labour and other stakeholders.
On the first day, he is expected to commission and initiate several infrastructure projects, including educational facilities, a proposed 24-hour market, and a police headquarters aimed at strengthening security in the region.
Tomorrow’s schedule will focus on direct citizen engagement, including a town hall meeting at the ICGC Jesus Temple in Adweso, where residents are expected to interact with the President and share concerns on local development issues.
The tour forms part of government’s broader agenda to “reset” development priorities, improve infrastructure delivery, and deepen public engagement across the country.
