The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) office in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region has received a major boost following a recent burglary at the facility.
The support comes from the President of the National House of Chiefs, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, who donated GH¢12,500, a laptop, and a printer to aid the renovation and re-equipping of the office.
The gesture follows a break-in incident reported in February, during which suspected thieves made away with essential items including a laptop, printer, ceiling fan, and other valuables, disrupting operations at the municipal office.
Speaking to Adom News, the Municipal Director of the NCCE, Martha Opara Nneka, expressed appreciation for the timely intervention, noting that the donation will help restore the office and strengthen security to prevent future occurrences.
She also commended Adom News for bringing attention to the incident, which she said played a key role in mobilising support for the affected office.
According to her, the items and funds will be used strictly for their intended purpose to ensure the office resumes full operations under improved conditions.
The intervention is expected to enhance the NCCE’s work in promoting civic education and public awareness within the municipality.
