The Municipal Chief Executive for Awutu Senya East, Seth Banini, has acknowledged lapses in professional standards at the Kasoa Mother and Child Hospital following the death of a pregnant woman and her unborn child.
Speaking on Badwam on Adom TV, he admitted that some health professionals at the facility may have fallen short of expected standards.
“Some of the health professionals fell short in their duties,” he indicated.
Mr Banini stated that beyond investigations, reforms must be implemented to address the challenges within the facility.
He noted that recommendations from the ongoing probe should include a possible shake-up in the leadership and management of the hospital to improve accountability and service delivery.
The MCE reiterated that individuals found culpable will be dealt with, adding that the aim is to prevent similar incidents in the future.
