The Ghanaian Ambassador to the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Alhassan Abu (Brigadier General, Rtd), has paid a morale-boosting visit to the Black Starlets ahead of their scheduled international friendly matches in Abidjan on April 27, 2026.
The team is set to face their Ivorian counterparts, the Young Elephants, in two friendly fixtures on April 27 and April 30, 2026.
During his visit, Ambassador Abu encouraged the players to prioritise teamwork and unity on the pitch, stressing the importance of collective effort over individual brilliance. He urged the team to play with confidence, discipline, and determination.
He further emphasised that raising Ghana’s flag high on the international stage requires unity, focus, and a purposeful approach both on and off the field.

Responding on behalf of the team, captain Joseph Narbi expressed gratitude for the Ambassador’s support and encouragement. He said the team was optimistic about achieving positive results in both matches and assured that, under the leadership of coach Ogum, they remain determined to make Ghana proud.
