Rapper Jay Bahd has addressed swirling rumours that his success on local and global music charts is artificially boosted.
The claims, which have gained traction online, suggest the artiste relies on streaming farms to inflate his numbers, especially given perceptions that his songs receive limited radio airplay and DJ rotation.
However, speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, Jay Bahd rejected the assertions, insisting he has a strong base of loyal fans who actively stream his music.
According to him, his sound is tailored to a specific audience, particularly fans of the Asakaa genre, noting that what may not appeal to some listeners resonates strongly with his core supporters.
Responding to critics, Jay Bahd said they are entitled to their opinions, adding that it does not in any way diminish his impact among his fanbase.
He also pushed back on claims that he lacks airplay, stating that his music does receive support from sections of the media.
