The National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat) has seized 15 motorbikes during an anti-galamsey operation at Eniamoah near Ntoboroso, following intelligence on illegal mining activities along the Offin River.
The exercise, carried out on April 13, 2026, between 11:20 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., involved a NAIMOS team from Manso Adubia moving into the area after receiving reports of intensified illegal mining operations.

When the team arrived at the riverside, they discovered widespread illegal mining activities taking place directly on the Offin River. However, the miners fled into nearby bushes upon sighting the officers, abandoning their equipment.
The task force subsequently seized 15 motorbikes believed to belong to the fleeing miners.

Officials say the scale of activity at Eniamoah points to a growing concentration of illegal mining along that stretch of the river.
NAIMOS has indicated that the Blue Water Guards will step up patrols in the Eniamoah and Ntoboroso areas to sustain enforcement and prevent the miners from returning. The Secretariat reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the Offin River from further destruction.
