The Electricity Company of Ghana has announced the commencement of Phase Two of its ongoing transformer replacement and upgrade programme at the Lashibi Primary Substation.
This follows the successful completion of Phase One at the Nmai Dzorn Primary Substation, marking a significant step in efforts to improve power distribution and reliability.
According to ECG, the Phase Two exercise is scheduled to run from Tuesday, April 14 to Thursday, April 16, 2026.
The company noted that the upgrade works will involve brief planned power outages in affected areas to ensure the safety of personnel and the smooth execution of the project. Detailed outage schedules, including specific time blocks, are expected to be communicated through its official channels.
ECG assured customers that measures have been put in place to minimise disruptions and urged the public to plan accordingly during the period.
The upgrade forms part of government’s broader agenda to strengthen electricity infrastructure, reduce system overloads, and deliver more stable and reliable power supply.
The company expressed appreciation to customers for their patience and cooperation as the improvement works continue.
