Six people have been injured in a road accident on the Kumasi–Accra Highway near Akyem Enyiresi in the Eastern Region.

The crash occurred close to the WAPCO Filling Station and involved a Toyota Vitz (registration GW 707-24) travelling from Accra to Kumasi and a Hyundai Santa Fe (GB 2734-25) moving in the opposite direction.

Reports indicate that the Toyota Vitz drifted out of its lane, resulting in a head-on collision with the oncoming vehicle.

A seven-member team led by Kubetew Alfred arrived shortly after the alert was raised.

The victims, including four men and two women, were transported to Enyiresi Government Hospital for medical treatment.
