Globen School held its annual Cocoa Products Day on 13 February 2026, replacing the traditional Valentine’s Day celebration to highlight cocoa’s strategic importance to Ghana’s economy and national identity.
Organised ahead of 14 February, which fell on a non-school day, the event aimed to instill values of sharing, generosity, and mutual care among students. The programme was sponsored by Top Choco Ghana.

In an interview, Assistant Headmistress Fortune Dzormeku explained that the initiative sought to raise awareness of Ghana’s cocoa heritage while promoting the values symbolised by cocoa products. Activities included the exchange of cocoa-based items, poetry recitals on cocoa’s origins and economic benefits, and a practical chocolate-making demonstration. She also acknowledged the contributions of cocoa farmers, whose work sustains a key sector of the national economy.
Headmaster Delali Yeboah added that the programme offered learners both educational and practical exposure to the cocoa value chain. Students showcased chocolate, cocoa tea, and cocoa-infused snacks while participating in quizzes and interactive sessions. He noted that the celebration encouraged innovation and inspired learners to explore opportunities within Ghana’s cocoa industry.
The school authorities expressed gratitude to Top Choco Ghana for sponsoring the event, noting that their support contributed significantly to its success. The celebration was described as highly successful, enhancing learners’ appreciation of cocoa’s role in Ghana’s economic development while reinforcing the school’s commitment to promoting national values.
