Interim Asante Kotoko coach Prince Yaw Owusu has insisted he is the right man to lead the team, despite a 1-0 loss to rivals Hearts of Oak.

Yaw Owusu took over from Karim Zito, and his first outing in charge came on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium, where a first-half header from Baba Adamu secured victory for the Rainbow Club.

Speaking after the match, Owusu acknowledged that the setback complicates their pursuit of the league title. “Losing to Hearts of Oak makes it difficult for us to win the league,” he said.

When asked if he is the right person to guide Asante Kotoko, he responded confidently: “Yes, there’s no two ways about it.”

The Porcupine Warriors, winless in their last three matches, will aim to bounce back when they face Young Apostles at the Wenchi Sports Stadium in Matchday 23 this weekend.
