Member of Parliament for Asutifi North in the Ahafo Region, Dr. Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, has expressed deep concern over a Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) project that has remained abandoned for a decade at the Ntotroso College of Nursing and Midwifery.

Speaking during the school’s 10th anniversary celebration, Dr. Addo highlighted that the assembly hall, which was earmarked as a GETFund project, has been left incomplete since 2016.

He noted that the current hall is inadequate to accommodate the growing student population, thereby limiting the school’s ability to host important events.

Addressing chiefs, school staff, students, alumni, Newmont staff, and parents, the MP pledged to use his position to ensure the government brings back the contractor to complete the hall, emphasizing the need to provide proper facilities for quality education.

“The assembly hall has been abandoned for 10 years, and it is high time we see progress. As the representative of this area, I will do all I can to ensure that the project is completed for the benefit of our students,” Dr. Addo said.

He also commended the students of the college for their dedication to Ghana’s health sector, pointing out that graduates often accept postings in rural and underserved communities to provide essential healthcare services.

Additionally, he praised the teaching staff for their commitment to imparting knowledge and shaping future healthcare professionals.

Dr. Addo’s appeal comes amid growing calls from residents and alumni for the completion of stalled GETFund projects across the country, highlighting concerns over infrastructure delays in key educational institutions.
