The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has urged party supporters to remain loyal and take pride in the party’s achievements, even if they have not yet received appointments.
Speaking at a gathering in the Gomoa West Constituency, Mr Asiedu Nketia said it was surprising that members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) continued to support their party’s agenda despite blaming their own flagbearer for the country’s economic hardships. He questioned why NDC supporters should feel discouraged now that their party is in power and receiving praise from many Ghanaians.
He cautioned supporters not to allow disappointment over appointments to push them away from the party, warning that such decisions could later lead to regret.
According to him, the contributions and sacrifices of grassroots members are well recognised and appreciated within the party.
Mr Asiedu Nketia therefore advised supporters to value what they have received so far and to rally behind colleagues who have been appointed, stressing that others will also have their turn in due course.
