The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asutifi South in the Ahafo Region, Benjamin Assabil Donkor, has assured residents that the government is committed to delivering on its development promises to the district.

Speaking in Hwidiem during an inspection of ongoing works on the Tepa–Goaso Highway being undertaken by Kofi Job Construction Limited, the DCE told Adom News that the return of the contractor to asphalt the road demonstrates the government’s dedication to addressing long-standing challenges faced by commuters.

According to him, the move reflects President John Dramani Mahama’s determination to fulfill the promises made during the 2024 election campaign, particularly in improving road infrastructure across the district.

Mr. Assabil Donkor noted that Hwidiem, as the district capital, is expected to see significant development under the Mahama-led administration, aimed at enhancing the living conditions of residents.

He further disclosed that the Member of Parliament for the area, Alhaji Collins Dauda, the Ahafo Regional Minister, Charity Gardiner, and the District Assembly are working with the contractor to ensure that all town roads in Hwidiem are asphalted, addressing the dust problem affecting residents.
