The Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, in collaboration with key sector stakeholders, has hosted a Regional Agribusiness Dialogue in Ho under the theme “Resetting Agribusiness for Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Growth.”

The event brought together farmers, processors, exporters, financial institutions, government agencies, and development partners from the Volta and Oti Regions to discuss opportunities, challenges, and strategies for strengthening the agribusiness value chain. Participants explored ways to enhance market access, promote value addition, and boost job creation across the two regions.

Dr. Betty Annan, Country Director, told Adom News that the dialogue would inform national-level planning as the government works to build a resilient, export-driven agricultural sector that supports economic growth. She emphasized the need for increased investment in processing facilities, improved access to credit, and adoption of modern technologies to raise productivity, as well as stronger public–private collaboration to address constraints slowing agribusiness development.

Kwame Oppong Ntim, Country Director for Agribusiness, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the sector through better policies, infrastructure expansion, and targeted financial interventions.

Participants expressed optimism that the discussions would lead to practical policies and programs benefiting farmers and agribusiness operators in the region. They commended the Ministry and its partners for creating a platform that fosters inclusive engagement and knowledge sharing.
