Residents across southern Ghana should brace for a mix of mist, rainfall, and sunny spells today as weather conditions vary across different parts of the country.
According to the Ghana Meteorological Agency, early morning mist and fog patches are expected to blanket several communities in the southern half of the country. The agency warns that visibility may be significantly reduced during the morning commute, particularly for motorists and commercial drivers on major highways and in busy urban centres.
As the day progresses, the mist is expected to clear, giving way to sunny conditions with occasional cloudiness across southern Ghana. However, meteorologists caution that localised thunderstorms and rainfall are likely to develop along the coastal belt and some inland areas in the afternoon.
Communities expected to experience rain include Accra, Kasoa, Obuasi, Axim, Tarkwa, Akim Oda, and Koforidua. Residents are advised to plan travel and outdoor activities accordingly. The agency notes that these showers may be brief but intense, potentially affecting traffic flow and outdoor business operations.
In contrast, parts of northern Ghana will continue to experience dry and hazy conditions due to the seasonal north-easterly winds associated with the Harmattan.
Night-time will bring temporary relief to residents in the Upper East and Upper West Regions, with relatively cool temperatures forecast for the night and early morning as humidity levels drop.
