Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has identified England as the team to beat in Group L at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but emphasized that Ghana will approach every match with respect for all opponents.

The Black Stars have been drawn alongside England, Croatia, and Panama in the tournament, which will be held across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

England were runners-up in 2018, Croatia reached the semi-finals in Qatar 2022, while Panama will make only their second World Cup appearance.

“I look forward to every game as special,” Addo, 50, told Ghanafa.org. “It is very important for us not to underrate any team. For sure, England is the favorite in that group, but as a coach, I am looking at each game equally.”

Ghana will kick off their campaign against Panama on June 17, face England on June 23, and conclude the group stage with a match against Croatia on June 27.

After consecutive group-stage exits, Addo and his players are determined to change the narrative and advance to the knockout phase next summer.
