The Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, is scheduled to present the 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament on Thursday, November 13, 2025, the Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, has announced.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament while presenting the Business Statement for the week ending Friday, November 14, 2025, Mr. Ayariga said the presentation will be made in accordance with Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution, which mandates the government to lay before Parliament its financial and economic plans for the coming year.
He explained that the budget will outline the government’s financial strategy and policy priorities for the 2026 fiscal year, including measures aimed at economic growth and fiscal stability.
The Majority Leader also disclosed that the Business Committee has observed a significant number of pending referrals before various committees of the House. Currently, about 300 referrals have been directed to 23 committees for consideration and reporting.
Additionally, five ministers are expected to appear before Parliament during the week to respond to 28 questions from Members of Parliament.
Mr. Ayariga urged committees to expedite work on their pending assignments as the House prepares for the presentation and subsequent debate on the national budget.
