A staff nurse identified as Ms. Bernice Aboagye has been issued a query letter by her employers after she was captured in a viral video using abusive and inappropriate language against the Minister of Health, Mintah Akandoh.
According to the letter, the nurse’s conduct has sparked public outrage, with several Ghanaians expressing concern over her comments, which have been widely circulated and discussed on social media platforms.
The management described her remarks as “unprintable, inappropriate and scandalous,” stating that the act violated multiple provisions of the Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Procedures of the Ghana Health Service.
The query cites three specific breaches, rude behaviour towards the Minister, use of abusive language, and tarnishing the corporate image of the Service.
Ms. Aboagye has been directed to respond to the query by October 24, 2025, explaining why disciplinary action should not be taken against her.
The incident has sparked mixed reactions online, with some calling for leniency due to the reported delays in payment of nurses’ salaries, while others insist that professionalism must be upheld regardless of circumstances.
