Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew says he is confident Ghana’s glory days are on the horizon following the team’s dominant 5–0 win over the Central African Republic on Wednesday at the Stade d’Honneur.
The emphatic win, sealed by goals from Mohammed Salisu, Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew, Alexander Djiku, and Kamaldeen Sulemana, extended Ghana’s lead at the top of Group I to 22 points, edging them closer to qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking exclusively to Adom FM’s Sports Page 2 after the game, the Leicester City forward praised his teammates for their impressive display and expressed optimism about the team’s resurgence.
“I believe the good days are coming. The fans should enjoy this moment because everything we do is for the country,” the 32-year-old said.
The Black Stars will conclude their qualification campaign with a crucial home fixture against Comoros on Sunday, October 12, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 GMT.
Having already featured at four World Cups, Germany 2006, South Africa 2010, Brazil 2014, and Qatar 2022, Ghana are determined to make their fifth appearance on the global stage next year.
