Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Adams, has vowed that the Black Stars will seek revenge against Comoros when the two sides face off on Sunday in the final game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Minister’s comments come as the Black Stars prepare for a crucial encounter that could seal their qualification for next year’s tournament.
Ghana has suffered back-to-back defeats to Comoros, first at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon and later in the second Group I qualifying match in Moroni.
Speaking ahead of the tie in an interview with Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Mr Adams urged the players to approach the game with determination but also with tactical discipline.
“On Sunday, it is a revenge against Comoros. We have lost to them twice, and that was during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the second game of the qualifiers in Moroni, and so we need to win on Sunday.
“But then also, we have to tread cautiously against Comoros not to think that we have goal advantage over the teams, but the point is that we must get revenge against them.”
The Buem Constituency Member of Parliament also appealed to fans to fill the Accra Sports Stadium and rally behind the team.
“I urge Ghanaians to come to the Accra Sports Stadium in their numbers to support the team,” he added.
