Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has declared that Ghana’s dominant 5-0 victory over the Central African Republic was unstoppable.
In Wednesday’s Matchday 9 clash of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the Black Stars ran rampant at the Stade d’Honneur, with goals from Mohammed Salisu, Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew, Alexander Djiku, and Kamaldeen Sulemana extending Ghana’s lead at the top of Group I to 22 points.
The emphatic result puts Ghana just one point away from securing a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking after the match, the Leicester City forward credited the team’s unity and determination for the commanding performance.
“With the determination and motivation we had today, whoever was on the pitch against us would’ve lost. From the first minute, we were at it,” Ayew said.
“When we scored the first goal, we were all happy, united, and playing as brothers — and this is what I want to see. If we keep this commitment and attitude, no one can stop us,” he added.
The Black Stars now turn their focus to Sunday’s decisive clash against Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium, where a single point will be enough to confirm Ghana’s fifth appearance at football’s biggest stage.
