Black Stars winger Kamaldeen Sulemana has marked a memorable milestone, scoring his first goal for Ghana’s senior national team.
The Atalanta attacker found the back of the net as Ghana ran rampant in a 5-0 victory over the Central African Republic on Wednesday, during Matchday 9 of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Sulemana’s strike came late in the game, connecting with a precise cross from Joseph Paintsil to cap off the emphatic win.
After the match, Sulemana expressed his delight at finally opening his scoring account for the Black Stars.
“I really appreciate the support from Ghanaians. This is my first goal, and it means a lot to me. There’s more to come,” he said.
Ghana now leads Group I with 22 points and will conclude their qualifying campaign with a home clash against Comoros on Sunday, October 12, at the Accra Sports Stadium. Kick-off is set for 19:00 GMT.
The Black Stars, who have previously featured in the 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022 World Cups in Germany, South Africa, Brazil, and Qatar, are aiming to secure their fifth appearance at football’s biggest stage.
