Black Stars head coach Otto Addo says the weather conditions ahead of Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic (C.A.R.) will work in his team’s favour.
The match is set for later today at the Stade d’Honneur in Morocco, as part of Matchday 9 of the African qualifiers.
Forecasts indicate temperatures of around 28°C at kick-off — a climate Addo believes will help his players perform comfortably.
“I am happy that we don’t play in the afternoon,” he told the Ghana FA website.
“It’s more going late into the evening, so it’s good, and this is truly an advantage for us and easier for our players to adapt,” Addo added.
The Black Stars will return home after today’s fixture to conclude their qualifying campaign against Comoros on Sunday, October 12, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Having featured at the 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2022 World Cups in Germany, South Africa, Brazil, and Qatar respectively, Ghana are determined to book a fifth appearance at the global showpiece, which the United States, Canada, and Mexico will co-host.
