CAF CC: Kotoko’s target is beyond participation – Sarfo Duku

Asante Kotoko

Communications Director of Asante Kotoko, Samuel Sarfo Duku, says the club is determined to make a strong impression in their upcoming CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

The Porcupine Warriors, returning to continental action for the first time since 2022, secured their place in the competition after winning the FA Cup last season.

Kotoko will face Nigerian side Kwara United in the preliminary round later this month.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Sarfo Duku stressed that the club’s ambition goes beyond participation.

“We are a football giant in Africa, and we are just not going to participate in the competition,” he said.

“Against Kwara United, you might think it is a walkover, which is not possible. But as a club, we are determined to go past them, focus on the next challenge, and make an impact. That is our target,” he added.

The first leg will be played at the Accra Sports Stadium between September 19 and 21, with the return fixture scheduled in Nigeria from September 26 to 28.
