
The Administrator of the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (MahamaCares) Secretariat, Obuobia Darko-Opoku, on Friday, August 25, put smiles on the faces of the families of 16 members of the Saviour Church in Obogu, who died in a fatal road accident.
The compassionate gesture by Madam Darko-Opoku, who doubles as the founder of the Ignite Youth Empowerment Initiatives, was to commemorate her birthday.
She provided essential food items and financial aid to help ease the burden on the grieving households.
Her donations included 200 bags of rice, 20 bags of sugar, 60 gallons of cooking oil, 60 boxes of tomato paste, 40 cartons of Ideal Milk, 40 cartons of Milo, ₵10,000 for each of the 20 affected families, and ₵50,000 to the church community.
This act of kindness not only offered relief to those in mourning but also reflected the belief that real celebration comes from giving to others.
Through her work with Ignite Youth Empowerment Initiatives, Obuobia Darko-Opoku has consistently promoted service, empathy, and empowerment.
By dedicating her birthday to the comfort of grieving families, she reinforced these values, showing herself to be both a compassionate leader and a source of hope.
