Susuanso roads get facelift as NADeF steps in

The Newmont Ahafo Development Foundation (NADeF) has begun reshaping deteriorated roads in Susuanso, a community in the Ahafo Region, aiming to ease the transportation difficulties residents have endured for many years.

Speaking to Adom News, some residents noted that the poor condition of the roads has made it nearly impossible for farmers—who make up the majority of the population—to transport their produce to market.

They explained that drivers of cars and tricycles often charge exorbitant fares and sometimes take longer alternative routes to avoid the worst sections.

One resident, Frank Frimpong, welcomed the intervention but appealed to the government to take the next step by tarring the reshaped roads.

He stressed that while NADeF’s efforts are commendable, the foundation lacks the financial capacity to asphalt the stretch, making government support essential to permanently address the challenge and reduce the heavy dust generated by the untarred surface.
