Gov’t ‘hiding’ Kevin Taylor at Vice President’s residence – Ntim Fordjour alleges [Video]

Assin South Member of Parliament (MP), Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has stirred controversy with claims that U.S.-based Ghanaian broadcaster Kevin Taylor is being housed at the official residence of the Vice President following a secretive arrival into the country.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, the former Deputy Education Minister alleged that Mr. Taylor was received at the Kotoka International Airport by national security operatives, despite an active bench warrant for his arrest.

According to the Ranking Member on Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, the broadcaster arrived in Ghana aboard a United Airlines flight from Washington, D.C.

“I have the full information on his arrival. Someone who should be made to face the law is being protected and emboldened despite the insults to traditional authorities, the judiciary, and other high-profile personalities.

“Despite an active bench warrant for his arrest, he was welcomed on the tarmac by national security operatives and smuggled through gate 19 of the VVIP lounge, a restricted passage typically reserved for senior government officials and diplomats,” he claimed.

Rev. Fordjour further alleged that Mr. Taylor was escorted to the official residence of the Vice President, which is currently unoccupied, as Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang—running mate of the NDC’s flagbearer—is residing in her private home.

While government is yet to issue an official response, Ghanaian broadcaster Paul Adom-Otchere has echoed similar claims.
