
South Korean drama star Kang Seo Ha has died from cancer at the age of 31.
The popular actress, known for her roles in Heart Surgeons (2018) and Nobody Knows (2020), died early on Monday morning, local time.
She was reportedly battling stage 4 acute stomach cancer at the time of her death.
Friends wrote on Instagram that she had continued caring for others even in ill health.
‘I still can’t believe it,’ one friend wrote. ‘While enduring such great pain, she worried about the people around her, and about me.’
‘Even though you couldn’t eat for months, you insisted on paying for my meals with your own card and never let me skip a meal. My angel, who left us far too soon.
‘Even as you endured everything with painkillers, you said you were grateful that it wasn’t worse, and I felt truly ashamed.
‘My dear sister, you went through so much. I hope you are only happy and free from pain where you are now!’
A memorial post appeared on her Instagram page on Monday with a montage of photos of the late actress in happier times.

A funeral has been organised for Wednesday at the Catholic University Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital funeral hall in the capital, local media reports.
She will be buried in the town of Haman, in South Gyeongsang Province, with family.
The star had recently started working again and just finished filming ‘In the Net’, or ‘Mangnaein’, according to Korean outlet Sports Khan.
Her final project is expected to be released posthumously.

Kang Seo Ha graduated from the Korea National University of Arts and made her professional debut in a ‘Brave Guys’ music video in 2012.
She went on to have roles in ‘Schoolgirl Detectives’, ‘Assembly’, Through the Waves’, and ‘Flowers of the Prison’, among other titles.
The actress would have marked her 31st birthday a month ago, on June 13, according to IMDb.
She was born Kang Ye Won in 1994.
