Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has thrown his support behind the Black Queens as they prepare to face Mali in their second Group C fixture at the ongoing 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The national women’s team is aiming to recover from a 2-0 loss to defending champions South Africa in their opening match on Monday.
Despite the setback, Sannie Daara remains optimistic about Ghana’s chances in the tournament.
“The Black Queens are a work in progress, so losing against South Africa is not an issue. But against Mali, I believe we can win that game,” he told Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.
Today’s encounter is scheduled for the Stade Municipal de Berkane, with kick-off set for 16:00 GMT.
The Black Queens will wrap up their group stage campaign against Tanzania on Monday as they seek qualification to the knockout rounds.
