Two passengers escape death in accident involving trailers at Konongo-Odumase

Two persons were rescued by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) after being trapped in a crash involving two trailers at Konongo-Odumase in the Asante Akim Central Municipality.

The incident occurred at dawn on Saturday, July 5, 2025, along the Three Lane stretch.

The crash involved a Nigeria-bound Man Diesel trailer with registration number JBD 704ZY and another trailer registered GS 7884-18.

Firefighters from the Konongo-Odumase Fire Station, led by LFM Siale, swiftly responded to a distress call and arrived at the scene to find two individuals trapped in the mangled cabin of one of the trailers.

The rescue team employed advanced extrication techniques including door removal, pedal removal, and dashboard rolling to free the victims.

The injured were transported to the hospital for medical attention.

While the trailer with registration GS 7884-18 suffered severe frontal damage, the Nigeria-bound truck sustained partial rear damage.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation.
