Rising Ghanaian footballer Abdul Aziz Issah is determined to earn consistent playing time at the club level as he works to establish himself as a regular in the senior national team.
The Dreams FC forward recently made his debut for the Black Stars during the Unity Cup clash against Trinidad and Tobago in London, a match Ghana comfortably won 4-0.
Reflecting on the milestone, Aziz Issah described the experience as a significant step in his career.
“After this debut, I think it’s time to stay focused. I need to get more playing time and more games at the club level. I believe everything will fall into place if I perform well for my team,” he told the Ghana FA website.
Currently a free agent after a stint with Barcelona B, Aziz remains optimistic about his future and is committed to advancing his career both locally and internationally.
He recalled the mix of excitement and nerves when he learned he would be featuring in the Unity Cup match.
“It was exciting when the coach told me I’d be coming on. Even though I was nervous about playing alongside experienced players, I was happy for the opportunity. I wanted to do well and prove myself,” he said.
Having previously represented Ghana at the U-20 level, Aziz expressed immense pride in making the step up to the senior national team.
“It’s a dream come true. Every player in Ghana wants to play for the Black Stars. I feel very proud to have made the transition from the youth level to the senior team,” he added.
