Asante Kotoko target 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title

-

Communications Director of Asante Kotoko, Sarfo Duku, has confidently declared that the Porcupine Warriors are poised to win the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title.

Kotoko wrapped up the recently concluded season in third place, finishing five points behind champions Bibiani GoldStars.

Despite missing out on the league trophy, the club ended the campaign on a high by lifting their 10th FA Cup title, securing qualification for next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.

With the new league season set to kick off in September, Duku revealed that the club is making strategic signings aimed at building a youthful and competitive squad.

“We’ve taken our time to sign the best players from the country and will be combining them with some foreign ones. We will only sign young players with a positive outlook, a proven track record, and the ability to attract interest from abroad,” he told Akoma FM.

He expressed confidence that with minor improvements to last season’s performance, Kotoko will clinch the league title.

“We will field the best players, and if we are to improve a little on last season’s performance, we will win the league title sooner than anticipated,” he added.

Duku also touched on the club’s ambitions in continental football, emphasizing their determination to make a mark in the CAF Confederation Cup.

“As for Africa, it’s been a while since Kotoko qualified for the group stages, but the goal is to outperform our previous campaign,” he said.

As part of their squad reinforcement efforts, Kotoko have already secured the services of Francis Acquah, Hubert Gyau, and Johnson Owusu Oppong.
