The former Member of Parliament for Bortianor‑Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The former Deputy Information Minister made the declaration over the weekend at a constituency chairmen’s workshop in the Ashanti Region.

Mr. Tetteh stated that he is poised to provide the bold, innovative, and pragmatic leadership the NPP needs ahead of the 2028 general elections.

“The NPP needs innovation, energy, and unity – and I am ready to serve.

“I have made up my mind to contest for the General Secretary position of our great party. The time has come to inject new energy, innovative ideas, and strategic thinking into the administrative leadership of the NPP,” he said in an interview on Nhyira FM’s Kukurantumi.

He emphasised the need to build a strong, united party grounded in effective communication, grassroots mobilisation, and youth engagement.

The former Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA) further pledged to campaign with civility and decorum, stressing that passion must not compromise the party’s stability.
