The National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Charles Dwamena, has called on members of the Bawumia 2024 Campaign Team to account for the funds and logistics allocated to them during the recently concluded campaign.

In a press release issued on Monday, December 30, 2024, Dr. Dwamena, popularly known as Dr. China, emphasized that rendering proper accounts is non-negotiable and crucial for understanding any shortcomings in the campaign.

Addressing a misleading report regarding the printing of ID cards for party executives in 2022, he assured members that all officers or campaign team members who received resources during the 2024 campaign will be held accountable for their use.

Update on ID Cards for Executive Members
Dr. Dwamena stated that over 90% of ID cards for executive members at all levels—polling station to national—have been printed and distributed.

The remaining 10% are at the Party Headquarters, awaiting collection by the regional secretariats.

He also highlighted the ongoing registration and issuance of ID cards to non-executive members in various constituencies, encouraging all eligible members to participate in the process.

Clarification on Party Donations and Expenditures
Dr. Dwamena dispelled allegations about the mismanagement of party funds, stating that all donations are deposited into Party coffers, not individual accounts. He explained:

    • The Party’s structures and working procedures prevent unilateral decisions or expenditures by any individual.
    • Expenditures require approval from the National Chairman and General Secretary, after which the National Treasurer ensures proper disbursement.

Dr. Dwamena expressed gratitude to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, and other leading Party members for their generous contributions toward Party activities.
