Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has indicated that the Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is likely to remain largely unchanged, barring injuries.
Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has already named a 28-man provisional squad, with the final 26 players expected to be confirmed on June 1.
Speaking to Channel One TV, Asante Twum stressed that the current group has been given the responsibility to compete for the final spots in the squad, with no major alterations anticipated at this stage.

“It is unlikely there will be changes to the squad unless there are injuries,” he said.
“For now, the 28 players must fight for places in the final team,” Asante Twum added.
The Black Stars are currently in Cardiff, where they are stepping up preparations for a friendly against Wales on June 2.
Ghana will be making their fifth appearance at the World Cup and have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia.
Their campaign begins on June 17 against Panama at BMO Field, before facing England on June 23 at Gillette Stadium, and concluding the group stage against Croatia on June 27.
The four-time African champions will be aiming to progress beyond the group stage for the first time since their memorable 2010 run in South Africa.
