The Black Stars of Ghana have arrived in Providence, Rhode Island, to begin the final phase of preparations ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign.
The squad departed Virginia on Thursday afternoon and landed at T.F. Green International Airport at about 6:00 p.m., marking the start of their final training phase before the tournament begins.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz and his 26-man squad are expected to resume training on Friday as they sharpen tactics for their Group L opener against Panama in Toronto.
Ghana wrapped up a week-long camp in Washington following an international friendly against Wales in Cardiff.
The training programme in Virginia featured intensive sessions at American University and the D.C. United training complex, alongside a farewell dinner hosted with members of the Ghanaian community in Alexandria.
The team now enters its final preparation phase in Rhode Island, which will also include community engagement activities before departure to Toronto for the opening match on June 17 at BMO Field.
Ghana has been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia. After facing Panama, the Black Stars will meet England at Gillette Stadium on June 23, before completing their group-stage fixtures against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia.
Queiroz’s squad includes captain Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Iñaki Williams, Antoine Semenyo, and goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi, who is set for a second consecutive World Cup appearance.
