National Coordinator for the One District, One Factory (1D1F) initiative, Gifty Ohene Konadu, has said all factories under the initiative would be completed by 2021.
In other words, every district in Ghana would have a factory of their own by the end of the year 2021, according to the special-purpose coordinator.
I can assure you that by January 2021, every district will have a factory. Some districts will even have more than one factory. You can put me on record and hold me to it, she said on Asempa FMs “Ekosi Sen” on Tuesday.
She said the president was passionate about the programme and as such, was making strenuous efforts to ensure the overall successful implementation of the initiative.
The ‘One-District-One-Factory’ initiative is aimed at establishing at least, one factory or enterprise in each of Ghana’s 254 districts.
The initiative is expected to create economic growth poles in the districts, accelerating development and creating jobs for the teeming unemployed youth.
The policy aims at transforming Ghana, from a raw material exporting economy to a value-added industrialized economy, driven primarily by the private sector.
