The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has intercepted 152kg of cocaine concealed in a shipment of sugar from Brazil at the Tema Harbour.

A statement from NACOC said the banned substance were concealed in bags of sugar from Brazil.

It stated that, interception was successfully carried out based on intelligence gathered in conjunction with other security outfits such as the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and the National Security Council Secretariat.

The statement added that a number of arrests have been made in connection with the seizure after lab tests confirmed the substances were cocaine.
