A 12-year-old class six pupil has allegedly committed suicide in an uncompleted building at Korle-Nkwanta in the New Juaben South Municipality in the Eastern Region.

The deceased was found hanging on a rag hooked to a window of an uncompleted building within their house.

Reports gathered by Adom News suggest the deceased was rebuked by his mother on Sunday morning, prior to the incident which they believe could be the reason he hanged himself.

A psychologist and Senior Lecturer at the School of Public Health, University of Ghana, Dr Emmanuel Asampong who spoke to Adom News on what could possibly push a boy of that age to commit suicide attributed the death to an agony the child might have suffered.

“When a child loses hope in finding a way to communicate his or her challenges for solutions, his or her emotions may likely cause them to commit suicide,” he revealed.
